What is the LAD Scheme?
This scheme funds energy efficient home improvements for those on low incomes who live in inefficient properties.
Eligible homeowners could get up to £10,000 for the funding of home energy efficient measures. Private or social housing landlords with eligible tenants can also apply to get up to £5,000 towards the cost of the same improvements, however landlords may be required to contribute at least a third of the cost.
Are You Eligible for the LAD Scheme?
To qualify for the LAD Scheme funding, the property must have an EPC rating of D, E, F or G which are the lowest ratings given. Properties off the mains gas grid are also included. In addition, the annual household income must be £30,000 or less.
The purpose of this scheme is to raise the energy efficiency of residential homes. Funding is now with councils who will target low income and fuel poor households.
Funding totalling £500 million is being allocated to local authorities through the Local Authority Delivery (LAD) scheme, to help deliver progress towards the UK’s commitment to net zero by 2050.
